As a director, Ryan’s work is shaped by over two decades inside Broadway and the entertainment industry, with an instinct for what lands both onstage and in culture. As Artistic Director of Hartford Children’s Theatre, he revitalized programming, launched a touring initiative, increased Main Stage attendance by 40%, and earned three National Youth Theatre Awards. He currently directs the new musical Merrilee Mannerly, guiding the project through two developmental productions and toward its upcoming Off-Broadway run. His directing also includes Billy Porter’s celebrity-filled “Love Yourself” lip sync video, along with additional stage and media projects rooted in strong visual storytelling and polished presentation that favors pace, precision, and bold imagery.
